I have been using Beachbody on Demand for over one year now, and I can honestly say these programs have gotten be into the best shape of my life!

As an avid gym goer for about 10 years, I’ll admit I was skeptical about at home workouts. However, when the pandemic hit and my gym closed, I needed to find a way to workout from home. I tried a few sample workouts and fell. in. LOVE! 

I was so surprised by the intensity of a workout I could get in only 30-45 minutes, all from my living room. Beachbody on Demand gives you access to dozens of workout programs of all types, varying from yoga, kickboxing, cardio, pilates, barre, weight training, stretching, meditation, dance, and practically any other workout you could imagine.

Before Beachbody on Demand, I was pretty consistent in my workout routine, though I wasn’t making much progress in the way I wanted, and I always seemed to plateau. With Beachbody, all the guess work was taken out of my workouts– All I had to do was simply show up, and my workout was already laid out in front of me!

Beachbody gives you entire programs to follow, so you can get an effective workout in a short amount of time then go about your day. The best part- you don’t even have to leave your house!

I have personally completed all of these programs so I can provide you with an honest review of each one! Here is a list of the best Beachbody workout to lose weight and gain muscle:

4 Weeks of The Prep

4 weeks of the prep by Beachbody

4 Weeks of The Prep is one of the best Beachbody workout to lose weight and gain muscle! Amoila Cesar is an incredible trainer and takes time to walk you through each move throughout the workout. His workouts are intense, but he matches it with his charming personality and motivational tidbits throughout the workout. Honestly, you’ll feel like he’s your friend by the end of the program!

Level: Intermediate

Length: 30-40 minutes/day. 5 workouts per week (1 rest day and 1 active rest day included), for a total of 4 weeks

Equipment needed: Dumbbells, resistance loops, strength slides, chin up bar (optional), mat (optional)

I use these resistance loops and they are perfect (plus really affordable)

6 Weeks of The Work

If you are looking for the best Beachbody workout to lose weight and gain muscle, 6 Weeks of The Work is the way to go! Once you have completed 4 Weeks The Prep, you might choose to do “The Work”, which is Amoila Cesars other program. I’ve personal done this program about 6 times and it has gotten me into the best shape of my entire life. Keep in mind- this program is NO JOKE. It is hard. Like, really hard. But also super fun and rewarding!

Level: HARD!

Length: ~40-45 minutes per day. 5 workouts per week, 1 rest day, 1 active rest day, for a total of 6 weeks

Equipment needed: Dumbbells, resistance loops, strength slides, chin up bar (optional), mat (optional)

Get yourself some good strength slides– you’ll definitely need them for this program!

#MBF/#MBFa aka Muscle Burns Fat

#MBF and #MBFa by Beachbody

Muscle Burns Fat and Muscle Burns Fat Advanced are two unique programs that can help you lose weight and build muscle! Megan Davies provides a fun program using indoor jump ropes in between strength training. It is truly something unique that I’ve never done anywhere else!

Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Length: 25-35 minutes per day. 6 workouts per week with 1 active rest day. 3 weeks total

Equipment needed: Dumbbells, Mat (optional), and indoor jump rope.

You can always use a regular jump rope if you have room in your house or are working out outside. Or, get this indoor jump rope so you don’t break anything!

10 Rounds

10 rounds by Beachbody

If you’ve never done kickboxing before, 10 rounds is a great place to start! Joel Freeman does an excellent job at walking you through each type of punch, and how to put them together to create epic sequences so you feel like a real fighter! 

Level: Beginner/Intermediate

Length: 30-40 minutes per day. 5 workouts per week (3 days of boxing, 3 days resistance training) for 6 weeks

Equipment needed: Resistance loops, dumbbells.

Morning Meltdown

Morning Meltdown is another best Beachbody workout to lose weight and gain muscle! This program helps you torch calories through high intensity cardio and resistance training. This program is unique because there is a live DJ who helps keep you pumped up throughout the workout!

Level: Beginner

Length: 20-30 minutes per day, 100 workouts total

Equipment needed: Dumbbells, yoga mat (optional)

These are my 5 best Beachbody workout to lose weight and gain muscle so far! Beachbody is constantly adding new programs, so keep checking this list to see the latest updates and best programs!
