When looking for a hotel in Paris, aim to stay as close as possible to the city.
We stayed at the Hotel Trinite Haussmann, and we HIGHLY recommend it! The hotel itself is super cute and comfortable, with just the right amount of Parisian flare.
It is located near the red light district (close to Moulin Rouge) and bustling night life! However, it is in a quiet part of town where you will not be bothered with a lot of noise.
Paris has a wonderful public transportation system, known as the Paris Metro.
We suggest buying a 3-day pass, for zones 1-5. This will give you transportation to all the attractions in this guide. You can buy a pass here, for about 48 Euro. The ticket they provide you is very small, only about an inch or two, so be sure to keep it somewhere safe!
If the Paris Metro is not for you, or you are looking for additional transportation, consider a sightseeing tour with Paris City Vision! There are plenty of options such as guided tours, cruises, walking tours, small group tours, and much more!
Paris Bucket List: Day 1
Arc de Triomphe
Once you are checked into the hotel and have your metro or sightseeing tickets, find your way to the Arc de Triomphe. The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most famous monuments in Paris and honors those who fought and risked their lives for France during the French Revolution.
There are plenty of restaurants in this area. Stop and grab something to eat!
Pro tip: Almost every restaurant in Paris gives you a baguette or some kind of bread at your table. Take some leftover bread for your next activity!
Bring that extra bread and grab a bottle of wine and head to the moment you’ve been waiting for: The Eiffel Tower! (an obvious Paris bucket list must!)
Find a quiet spot on the lawn and enjoy each other’s company. You can also buy wine and other alcohol here, as there are handfuls of people selling it!
Relax and enjoy as you gaze up at the beautiful Eiffel Tower!
Pro tip: get this awesome selfie stick tripod to take some cute pictures by the Eiffel Tower!
When you feel ready, grab some dinner. Check out this list of the best hidden bars in Paris that you should definitely try this night!
If you are traveling to Paris during the summer months, remember that the sun sets very late, giving you plenty of time to go bar hopping! Believe it or not, this picture was taken at around 10:30 pm!
Spend the rest of the night perusing the streets of Paris, stopping wherever you desire!
Paris Bucket List: Day 2
Start the day early with touring The Louvre! Make sure to buy tickets ahead of time, as tickets sell fast!
You can spend all day at the Louvre but plan to spend at least 2-3 hours.
Make sure you see the most famous art pieces like Mona Lisa and Michaelangelo’s David.
Keep in mind these art pieces gather a lot of attention and crowds, so getting here early in the morning can be helpful!
Also, take this Instagram worthy photo!
Notre Dame Cathedral
Next, make your way to Notre Dame. Because of the unfortunate recent fire here, visitation is currently prohibited.
However, when Notre Dame is available in the future, be sure to visit! The chapel is beautiful, and the architecture is stunning!
Notre Dame used to be free to enter, although this could change in the future.
Be aware of scams in this area, we were followed and asked for money.
Sainte Chapelle was one of our favorite sights in Paris and is very underrated.
You can buy tickets here. Again, it is very important to buy tickets ahead of time.
Inside Sainte Chapelle, you will be stunned with beautiful stained glass windows from every angle, with a rainbow of colors beaming down.
It is truly a beautiful, and a peaceful place to visit.
By this time, it will be getting late. Have some dinner from one of the best hidden bars in Paris, then head to the Montparnasse Tower.
When in Paris, you must see the Eiffel Tower at night. The Montparnasse Tower gives you a bird’s eye view of the entire city and a great place to watch the tower sparkle!
You can find more information about pricing and tickets, here.
On the observation deck, there is plenty of seating and even a bar to have a cocktail as you watch the whole city light up at night!
This is a very romantic place to spend time with your partner, and find some quiet time just the two of you!
Paris Bucket List: Day 3
Palace of Versailles
For your final day in Paris, Start by touring the Palace of Versailles.
The Palace was a royal residence up until the French Revolution, and is full of beautiful rooms and art.
Make sure to see the Magical Fountains on the grounds as well.
Buy tickets for an early time slot, as it gets very busy!
Macarons at Luxembourg Gardens
The best macarons in Paris are no doubt from Pierre Herme.
They have lists of different flavors of macarons and other chocolate desserts, that you must try!
Buy a box and walk down the street to Luxembourg Gardens, for a quiet place to enjoy your midday snack!
Here, you will find tourists and locals lounging in the shade, children playing with boats in the fountains, and children’s bands playing a soft melody.
Depending on time, head over to Musee d’Orsay, another art museum.
Keep in mind the museum is only open until 6 pm, so only visit here given you have plenty of time.
We recommend not buying tickets ahead of time for this one, because you may not get to it!
Seeing a show at the Moulin Rouge is often debated about whether or not it is worth it.
We saw the Feerie show, and it was AMAZING.
We spend more money on tickets for this show than on anything else during this trip. While expensive, it was 100% worth it.
Even though they speak French throughout the show, you will not feel like you don’t know what is going on.
There are acrobats, stunts, live animals, and performances that take your breath away!
We were so glad we spent our last night seeing this show, and we guarantee you will enjoy it too!
